Lola loves to jump around in the water, and she has started taking Toby's ball from him in a game of keep away. Then she decides to take the ball into the water, which isn't a good idea since she can't pick up the ball in the water, she only makes it sink more or she pushes it farther out in the water where I can't get it so then I have to send Toby out in the water to get the ball.
These are chuck-it balls, which aren't cheap, so I want the damn things back.
Look at her dirty face! This is what she's really like:
Don't let that cute little face fool you, she can be a terror.
Lounging around today, working on my knitting project, which, unfortunately, I know I'm not going to complete in time. That bugs me. I have been trying so hard for so long to finish what I start (and in a timely manner) that this is a step back. At least I tried, right?
Hey, has anyone seen these or tried them?
These are gorgeous and I would love to get one but they are SOOOOO very expensive I don't want to have serious buyers remorse. Does anyone have any feedback on these? I'd love to hear it.
I hope your day is restful.
Enjoy your day.
My serger works, new patterns, knitting, new bag material, nap time, learning new sewing skills….I’ve got all kinds of motivation going on!
If only Wolfie would stop lying on my material…
Whenever I say ‘Lazy Sunday’ I mean that in a restful, take a break, it’s a day of rest kind of thing. Not like, always be lazy. Lazy can be a negative term, but that’s not all it means (like with so many other words in the English language). I have even been called lazy by some, even though that is not something that most people would call me. I have always been an active person, physically and mentally, but there are just some things that I am not inclined to do:
- wash my car
- sweep the leaves off my front stoop (that end up there every day)
- clean a boat/jetski/hot tub/pool (I have none of those things on purpose and I can’t afford someone else to clean them)
I don’t consider myself to be lazy because I don’t do these things, these are just not high on my priority list. It’s more ecological to go to a car wash than to do it yourself; the leaves keep coming back every day to my front stoop, and they will blow away with the next storm, so why should I sweep them; and I don’t have a boat/jetski/hot tub/pool because I don’t find them to be necessities and as much as I would like to have them, I’m not inclined to take care of them and I can’t afford someone else to do it for me, so why have them? Does that make sense?
I guess I’d much rather spend time in my garden, with my pets, or napping. Or making and creating and being crafty and learning.
Maybe it’s an ‘with age comes wisdom’ thing, or maybe it’s a midlife crisis thing, or maybe I’m just getting old and cranky and I don’t want to do much anymore, but whatever it is, I like not having so much to do and not giving a damn about being called lazy.
Have a lazy Sunday, whatever that means to you.
I couldn’t believe it either.
I’m so excited, I go home and set the bag down – you know, so it doesn’t scare the dogs and they can sniff what’s in it – and guess what Lola does?
No worries, the yarn isn’t torn up and she quickly tired of it. Once she was done I took it from her and replaced it with a proper toy.
Anna could care less.
Aren’t all parents biased?
Such a cute little kissy face…
Anyway, naturally we are relaxing today. We spent a good 2 hours at the dog park to be thoroughly exhausted so mom can get some sewing done without a puppy paw scratching at us, all the while listening to some non-traditional Christmas music, which makes it so much more fun!
I also sorted through all my knitting needles and I seem to have a set in almost every size. I’m ready for some yarn buying tomorrow! (On sale, of course)
I hope whatever you’re doing today I hope you are happy and healthy and well rested and enjoying your day.
It was SO gorgeous this morning, we stayed at the park for 2 hours! YES! Puppies loved it and it made them extra tired.
I don’t know if it was the time change or the cooler weather, but it was a bit crazy at the dog park this morning. Lots of yelling and barking and whining and kids fighting and trying to hump each other, and not in the fun way. We stayed out of the fray by hanging out at this pavilion close to the woods and also close to parking. It’s funny about this pavilion, it’s like it’s invisible. People don’t seem to see you there, no one really comes by, it’s kind of nice. I usually hang back here when I come to the park in the evenings, so to keep out of the way of big dogs that scare Lola. She’s been run over so many times by big dogs that are playing, but they don’t realize how big they are to her, and poor thing gets tumbled in the dirt and is really scared.
Lola is funny though, for all her being scared of other dogs, she’s my alarm system. She will sleep in the living room at night and bark at whatever she thinks may be a threat. When I’m on the patio, she’ll stand guard and if she hears a strange noise, she’ll run into the backyard barking and snorting and huffing and puffing…like this little 10 pound dog will just tear somebody apart if they step foot in this yard! Although I have to say, Anna is her back up and she can be pretty fierce. People tend to back away from a 3 legged dog that ain’t afraid of people nor animals.
So I am working on some home made gifts for the holidays – earrings, small clutches, key rings – and some repairs – I really need to hem my pants for work and my heavy duty machine has a hem stitch that I have been dying to try out – as well as piece together my project for the Trash2Trends show next year.
And, of course, I need to work in a nap today. Thankfully I am off tomorrow, so I can catch up on some stuff. This time change throws me off every time. I follow the circadian rhythm so much that when it is dark at 530p, I just want to go to bed. Darkness = bedtime, right?
Anyway, I hope you have a restful day.
It’s rough living here. I don’t know how she does it.
The dogs don’t know what to make of it: mom home all day, taking a lot of naps; kind of out of the ordinary, even for a weekend. Thankfully my mom is here to help out. (I have learned another benefit to elastic waist pants – easy to pull on with one arm)
We’ve already binge watched Stranger Things (very good BTW), and my mom is looking for the next thing to watch. She likes sci-fi stuff, so we’ll see what we can agree upon. And we have a puzzle to do. Excitement abounds.
That’s ok, a good rest is needed sometimes.
Enjoy your day.
