I think this is a really good reminder for us all creative types. There are days when we’re down because things just aren’t selling, or no one seems to want to hear about our greatest new adventure/discovery, or what we’re trying to make just isn’t coming together in the way we imagined.
On days like those, I just remember that creativity for its own sake is its own reward. It is said that creativity and artistic expression can help aid long term memory, critical analysis, and judgement, among other things. So when my days aren’t going so well, or as well as I’d like or planned, I just take a deep breath and enjoy the process. It’s fun and it may make me more smarter along the way.
